[….] A British start-up developing a super antenna that can connect to multiple satellites at once has just won $37 million (£27 million) in a funding round led by Seraphim, a listed trust set up to capitalise on opportunities in the space sector.

Isotropic Systems has developed a circular ground antenna that can link to multiple satellites and could boost connectivity for users of broadband on the move.

Private sector companies have been scrambling to launch competing constellations of small satellites to extend internet access around the world. Tesla boss Elon Musk is targeting the launch of 42,000 satellites in his Starlink low-Earth orbit network. Meanwhile, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is developing a rival system called Kuiper, and the UK government has invested in the OneWeb constellation.
